Event Annex - The Senate Room

CRY HAVOC, AND LET SLIP THE DOGS OF WAR.
W

elcome, esteemed guests, to the Senate Room.

The rules of the game are simple. You have a word over your head that you cannot see, and the same word written on a piece of paper in an envelope that also contains a key. There is a door out of this room. Each key opens the door for only one person. You can see the words above others' heads, but you cannot say them, nor can you say any direct synonyms that might give it away too easily, nor can you spell the word or its synonyms. You must find other ways to describe it to allow the other person to guess. More abstract. Get creative with it.

If you believe you know the word, speak it aloud and open your envelope to retrieve your key. If you are correct, you can leave without incident. If you are wrong, your organs will immediately fail and you will die.

Here are the words each participant has been assigned. Players can use them to refer to other players' characters to help them guess, and you can use them to check your answers when you guess, but you can also OOCly know your answer provided you don't use it to ICly cheat. Good luck.

"Ummm," Papyrus replies, eye sockets shifting away as he glances away. His gaze drifts again to some of the other words on display, none of which he would necessarily call a good trait. Maybe his own word, unusually, flatteringly, is...?

No, that wouldn't make sense with the energy in here.

"M-Maybe a little less... worried, than that," he decides on. "More... enthusiastic? I wouldn't say it's how you come across, though! Even exaggerating some of those worst impressions..."

Frankly, he doesn't know enough of the people in the room well enough to say whether many of their words fit how they come across, either. But this one seems especially not-fitting. If it weren't some of the details of their introduction, he'd have been especially baffled. He's still baffled.

"Even if the game's rules say they're about us, count me as skeptical."

"I'm skeptical as well," Marik clicks his tongue. In truth, he doesn't want to admit things about himself. It's partially the reason he created a split personality in the first place, not that he realizes it.

More enthusiastic and less worried though, Papyrus says...

He swallows. "... Cruel... maybe...?"
spaghettimonster: (I DON'T KNOW HOW THAT HAPPENED.)

"Oh, no, not... It's not that bad," Papyrus tries to reassure.

Tries, because as much as he can push some (genuine!) reassurance into his tone, the actual word still isn't a good one. Not as bad is a low bar as reassurances go.

"It's... not actually about knives, or threats, or fear," he clarifies. "I guess that whole incident was actually a bad comparison. More like... a supervillainy feeling?"

"Supervillainy feeling..." The boy's eyebrows furrow. Supervillain. Really? What in oblivion...

"...That's... like..." He grunts. "How serious is it...?"

Being someone prone to going about dressed in a costume for weeks on end, Papyrus doesn't think anything particularly amiss about reaching to cartoon or comic book logic for this guessing game. Or in general.

"It's... the sort of personality trait... that inspires the, uh, take over the world notions," he decides to go with.

...

Marik stares.

"Tyrant?"

"Uh, not exactly," Papyrus manages to say, while failing not to feel awkward. There's really so many worse words to stumble over in the process of reaching this destination, huh?

"That's more... the job title of people who already did the taking over of the world. This word is more of a... description of people interested in that career path?"
