Event Annex - The Senate Room

CRY HAVOC, AND LET SLIP THE DOGS OF WAR.
W

elcome, esteemed guests, to the Senate Room.

The rules of the game are simple. You have a word over your head that you cannot see, and the same word written on a piece of paper in an envelope that also contains a key. There is a door out of this room. Each key opens the door for only one person. You can see the words above others' heads, but you cannot say them, nor can you say any direct synonyms that might give it away too easily, nor can you spell the word or its synonyms. You must find other ways to describe it to allow the other person to guess. More abstract. Get creative with it.

If you believe you know the word, speak it aloud and open your envelope to retrieve your key. If you are correct, you can leave without incident. If you are wrong, your organs will immediately fail and you will die.

Here are the words each participant has been assigned. Players can use them to refer to other players' characters to help them guess, and you can use them to check your answers when you guess, but you can also OOCly know your answer provided you don't use it to ICly cheat. Good luck.

spaghettimonster: (A REPAIR PROJECT)

Comfort doesn't really seem to be in the cards, with this latest kidnapping situation. But Papyrus startles in surprise at the notion that a sleeping cap counts as a hat as mannerly seating rules go, and stares up towards the brim he can't see with it on.

It doesn't seem likely that whatever word floats above his head is about the hat, or that it will change if he takes it off... But it isn't like he's keeping a pillow clean right now anyway, and a skeleton can dream of losing his invisible word. He tugs it off, and fiddles with it in gloved hands as he thinks.

"A firewall, huh... It was keeping everybody else out... But I think it was mostly keeping us all in. And the death thing... I don't know if that was a feature or a bug," he admits. "People could die, usually, but we just... revived after a day."

The reveal of Papyrus' bare skull imparts an impression upon Ethan that he really cannot be surprised anymore. Truly, he's seen everything if talking to a skeleton without even questioning it occurs to him.

"I have a question," Ethan raises a hand, limply. Papyrus says they could be revived after a day, and thus, he is now understanding the severity of the moment, of the barrier's fall. But, at his core: Ethan desires to fix something. "Would this bastard be able to affect the barrier, or are we just not going to chance it?"

"...'This bastard'...?" Papyrus echoes, voice going slightly fainter with incredulity at the word choice, before he realizes. "Oh, do you mean our latest kidnapper? The host of this little slumber party?"

Because after so long of thinking he'd at least technically survive making some reckless choices, even if he died from them, the abruptness of not having that protection is... unsettling.

Bastard, surprisingly, sounds pretty unnatural coming from Skeletor here.

"Yeah, that's what I meant. Everyone's on edge. I know we should assume the worst, but can we say he definitely has the ability to affect the barrier?"
spaghettimonster: (HAVE I EVER...?)

Maybe it's his charming old-timey pajamas adding to what a surprise it is, coming from him, even without the sleeping cap. That, and the look of wide-eye socketed worry on his skull.

"Well... I can't say definitely," Papyrus hedges. "But, if whoever's behind our kidnapping really is one of the demon lords, then, it's a real possibility. After all! Whoever helped build it, might know ways to deactivate it, right?"
