In town - OTA

Sephiroth is keeping to the promise he made to Zack and is in town to get a fan. Two or more, most likely. He is in far better spirits than he has been lately and smiles and greets anyone he happens to meet.

At the shop, he examines the fan designs with a thoughtful eye. As long as they work properly, he doesn’t care much about what they look like. He examines them to see if they all have the same speed levels before finally selecting two.

After getting the fans, it’s time to get fruit juice. For that he heads to the grocery store to see what varieties are available. He can soon be found studying the case where the juices are kept.

At home - Closed to Zack

Back home, Sephiroth puts the juice in the ice box and sets up one fan in the living room. The other is for Zack’s room, and he approaches quietly, not wanting to wake Zack if he’s still asleep. Lucy and the Umbreon Zack trot along with him as he carefully opens the door to look into the room.

[Sephiroth looks gently amused.]

[Zack had always had the ability to get into his heart the way most hadn't.]

[Had he been flirting? He wouldn't be surprised if his mind was going in that direction but... he took a small breath. When it came to women, he was easily a flirt, but when it came to men? He was afraid he'd get a right hook and called a pervert. It also does well to mention his father had been against the gay community.

He knew in reality he would never bring home a man, he probably would have bringed home a woman and live out the perfect life in Gongaga once he retired from SOLDIER later in life.] Oh... I uh... More juice?

[Sephiroth might have been surprised and confused, but since he knew Zack, he would have been touched as well. He just wanted to be cared about. Romantic, platonic, familial ... any true love was what he was starved for. Although he felt more equipped to handle friendship than romance.]

Of course. You may have as much as you like.

[He pours more.]

[Zack takes a drink, then breaks down just a little.] Yeah, I might have been flirting. I had a crush on you once upon a time when I was a teenager and young adult. Just... yeah. Sorry, again. I know how you feel about romance and I'm not asking for a relationship. I was just letting you know you're a desirable big ol lug.

[Sephiroth blinks in surprise, then smiles a bit.]

I had no idea. You don't have to be sorry. I'm glad to know.

[Even if it's hard for him to comprehend, especially now, after everything he's done.]

Yeah. Believe it or not, you're ... handsome, you have a sense of humor as I learned and you're an incredible swordsman. [He wanted to say beautiful, another rule of being a man when complimenting men when you were into men; don't call them beautiful.]

Of course you didn't. I'm good at keeping my crushes a secret.

[Sephiroth has been called beautiful before, usually by adoring fangirls, but not always.]

Hm. Those are positive things about me, I'll agree.

[Is he joking or is he not? He's not typically prideful of his looks and skills, although he is certainly aware of them.

He smiles a bit, half-tempted to remark that he knew about Aerith, but not sure he should bring her up.]

There's more to you than that. I just don't feel like waxing poetics, man. [Zack feels hot under the collar but he's not exactly blushing either. Just surprised they're having this conversation.

He's definitely not joking. He's even embarrassed right now.] Yeah, the only person I knew for certain wouldn't tell anyone was Cloud. I think I freaked him out and he thought I would hit on him. [Zack laughs.]

[Sephiroth chuckles. He is certainly surprised himself.

He knows Zack is serious, which moves him. But as to whether he himself is serious when he agrees with Zack about the positive things about him, that is a mystery.

He actually laughs a bit at the image of Cloud freaked out about that.]

Yes, I don't think Cloud would handle that well.

Well, he was a teenager back then. I doubt teen guys know how to handle male crushes when they aren't gay themselves.

[Zack ran a hand over his spikes, drinking his juice.] Do you think we could watch something? Do you have tv besides radio?

Hmm. I doubt even some adults would know what to do with that.

[He shakes his head.]

There isn't television here.

[But who knows, perhaps that might come? He was surprised about the radio.]

Says a lot for humanity, that they don't know how to handle queerness, even though it's been around since the dawn of time.

[He smiles ruefully.]

Ah, radio it is. Do you got one?

There are quite a few things humanity still seems unable to handle, it seems.

[He switches it on. It's on the classical music station.]

It'll always be that way, but you never know, it might change.

[Zack perks up, it sounds nice.] Too bad there's no rock or metal.

[He looks amused.]

If a rock band ends up here, maybe they'll do something about that.

[Zack laughs.] Would be nice. I'll get bored of classical before too long.

[He stretches, yawning.] I'm starting to get cooped up. Maybe I should go for a walk but wear a mask.

Heh. I'm sure.

[He looks slightly concerned.]

Do you feel well enough to walk?

[Zack continued drinking his juice. Then nodded.] Kinda afraid I'll get others sick, but I wouldn't mind a walk.

If you don't get too close, it should be fine.
