Sephiroth in town and at home
Who: Sephiroth (
imjustaman) & Open, with one prompt closed to Zack (
fairtide)
What:
Sephiroth is shopping and then tending to Zack at home
When:
May
Where:
In town and at Sephiroth's home
Warning(s):
None, probably
In town - OTA
Sephiroth is keeping to the promise he made to Zack and is in town to get a fan. Two or more, most likely. He is in far better spirits than he has been lately and smiles and greets anyone he happens to meet.
At the shop, he examines the fan designs with a thoughtful eye. As long as they work properly, he doesn’t care much about what they look like. He examines them to see if they all have the same speed levels before finally selecting two.
After getting the fans, it’s time to get fruit juice. For that he heads to the grocery store to see what varieties are available. He can soon be found studying the case where the juices are kept.
At home - Closed to Zack
Back home, Sephiroth puts the juice in the ice box and sets up one fan in the living room. The other is for Zack’s room, and he approaches quietly, not wanting to wake Zack if he’s still asleep. Lucy and the Umbreon Zack trot along with him as he carefully opens the door to look into the room.

At least there's monsters to fight. I'd get bored not being able to brandish a sword.
[He's bothered, but he'll get over it. He grew up in Gongaga after all, a small little village that barely got cell service.]
no subject
[Sephiroth describes the shows he's heard, which may or may not be all that's available. Some music, some talk. The music ones are classical-type music.
He chuckles.]
When you're well again, perhaps we can patrol the woods together.
no subject
[Zack listens intently, surprised by the shows. Some even sound ... scandalous for this place.] We can definitely do that!
Tell me about all your friends? Who am I going to meet here shortly.
no subject
Sephiroth smiles.]
I look forward to it.
[He ponders the question.]
Hm. Most of the people I'm close with are the ones I work with: Valdis, who is the police chief, CT, a fellow officer, Snakes Tolliver, another officer....
[But he doesn't know if he's close enough to anyone to really think of them as friends in the same way he thought of Zack, Angeal, and Genesis.]
no subject
[He looks at Sephiroth with a smile.] Let's go out and meet people in a few days once I'm better. I bet you find out friends are just as important even when you don't work with them. You can learn so much from someone you have nothing in common with.
no subject
He blushes a bit.]
I do talk to other people in town. I try to welcome any newcomers I find. But I'm not as close to them, it's true.
[He looks intimidated at the thought of deliberately trying to meet people to make friends with them. But he has to smile at Zack's last comment.]
I agree, you can.
[Thinking of how different he and Zack are aside from being SOLDIERs.]
no subject
[Zack beams.] Kinda like us, but not really. We have things in common...I think. [he tries to think of some but fails.] Okay, we both like books at least. Though I don't have the attention span to read long books, only short stories.
no subject
He looks away.]
I suppose. This place is only meant to be temporary. Someday everyone is supposed to be able to go back to their homes.
[Which isn't really his reason.
He looks amused as Zack ponders this.]
At least you enjoy some books. I've met people who don't enjoy reading at all.
no subject
[He laughs.] I'd read longer books if my attention span could handle it, but alas, it hardly handles the short ones. Find anything good to read around here?
no subject
[But he wants to believe they can. Probably. With Zack here now, he may not be as anxious to depart.]
I mostly read non-fiction about the history of the town and the area, hoping to find clues to breaking the curse.
no subject
What curse?
no subject
[Sephiroth replied.]
The curse that's keeping everyone trapped here and not allowing them to permanently die. Apparently if anyone dies, it's only for 24 hours and then they revive again. I haven't had that experience yet.
no subject
[Zack blinked, looking shocked.] You mean there's no way to die here?
no subject
As I should have done. Not that I was ever really a god.
[He nods.]
Not permanently, no.
no subject
Wow, that's crazy, Seph. I wonder if people want to die. Seems terrible to have that choice taken from you.
no subject
I would imagine that some of the residents who have lived through the curse from the beginning would be tired by now and want to die. Especially if loved ones have gone on long before them.
no subject
[Zack rubs a hand over his face, he sneezes a moment after.]
no subject
[He smirks a bit at the memory.]
Oh, would you like some of the juice now?
no subject
Yes, please. I'm thirsty.
no subject
It was most definitely a horror.
[He gets some of the apple juice and comes back, holding it out.]
Here.
no subject
[Zack takes the apple juice and drinks some.] Thanks. This is refreshing.
[He pauses a moment then continues.] Do they have a seamtress here? Somewhere? I'm not digging the clothes I have, after I get a job I'd like to have someone make clothes for me.
no subject
Most of us seem to have bounced back quite well from all of it, at least.
[He certainly struggled for a while, and he suspects his coworker Snakes is not doing well at all.
He smiles a bit, pleased that the juice meets with approval.]
Yes, there are several people who do that sort of work. There are also occasional events where more modern clothes are available. That was how I found some of mine. Then I was given my actual clothes after the opera calamity.
[A pause.]
There's also a shady merchant who carries various items from people's homes. No one knows how he acquires them. I wouldn't recommend going to him; he charges exorbitant amounts, even when what he has belongs to the person wanting it.
no subject
[He keeps drinking the juice, it tastes delicious. His pallor probably even looks better after drinking it, even though it's not magic.]
Oh boy, man. Do you think they'll make clothes I want custom? I'd love that.
[He laughs.] Maybe I could meet him and rough him up. Isn't that what we did to shady merchants back home?
no subject
It has been ... a time.
[Hopefully with this demon supposedly dead, their pasts being dragged up will stop. But in this place, who knows.]
I believe they do custom work. I was thinking of saving up for some, but then I didn't need to.
[A smirk.]
I would imagine some people have already done that and it hasn't helped. But if you were to try it yourself, I wouldn't object.
no subject
[He nods.]
You can still get custom work done. You can't always wear the same leather coat and get up all the time, Seph.
[He takes another drink.] You think? Really? You're probably right though that people have already tried beating the guy up, can't say I blame anyone to be honest.
