[OPEN] And I'll dream each night of some version of you
Who: Alice Dyer (
closureisformovies), Samama "Sam" Khalid (
huntingtruths) & you!
What: Alice and Sam arrive back from their canon update
When: Early May
Where: Around, locations in prompts
Warnings: Reference to gun violence; typical horror protagonist things; specifics in headers. Magnus Protocol Spoilers up to Episode 40.
Notes: Open prompts for both Alice and Sam will be down in the comments! Body of the post is meta/closed to Sam.
It's just her luck, really. Goes to talk to some spooky external— thing and don't even die because it's dangerous, oh no, that'd be too logical. She was prepared for that risk. Getting accidentally shot by her overeager bodyguard she didn't ask for? That's the level of absurdity that her life is made of, these days, so of course that's what happened instead.
(Gwen Bouchard, when she fucking sees you again...)
The memories hit when Mortanne welcomes her back and with it, the fact that Sam was here, too, the first time, so if she's here again, then surely— maybe— she almost doesn't dare to ask but she does and Mortanne says yes, and, well, after that it's all she can do not to cry with relief.
She's alone on the ferry, except for ferryman. It's the most nervewracking few minutes of travel of her life and she spends it shifting from foot to foot, scratching at her arm, pulling at her hair—nervous, scared, anxious, excited, she doesn't know. She just knows that Mortanne wouldn't lie. So she pays her fare, steps off the boat, and then stands on the dock to wait.
She's not going anywhere until he turns up. She doesn't care how long it takes.

She throws her hands up. "Five nights at fucking what now? The murders didn't actually happen at Fredbear's y'know, Chuck E's just toed the line on copyright infringement like it was a sport."

Alice stares at his face for a solid three seconds before absolutely cracking apart and doubling over laughing as the absurdity hits like a brick to the face.

This, of course, only sets her off worse. She even has to grab his arms where they're grabbing at her to brace herself lest she completely dissolve into the table.
"A-Actually— arguably the main— main antagonist is Bushnell 'cuz he did— did all the murders but—" nope she can't finish that sentence she's gone.

Gerry takes a massive gulp of beer, then sighs.
"Alright anyway. So it sounds like your Celia might be from my universe."

"I'll pay— for your stamp—" she gets out between laughs. Sinking down in her chair until she's almost disappeared beneath the table, she tries to get the laughter under control and sorely fails to do so for another good thirty seconds before it starts working. Utterly insane. God, she needed that.
"That's—" she clears her throat, bites back another wave of reflexive laughter that tugs on her aching cheeks, "that's kinda what I was thinking, yeah. Sam said the people that he met over there talked about Fear and the end of the world and stuff. And it'd sure explain her... everything, she was always so vague and weird about everything outside work."

Then, a thought. "Actually. There's one I haven't talked much with. I think her name's Melanie. Plus, Jon also just got back from a visit home and he's--- different now. I think I have some asking around to do."

Alice clicks her fingers a few times, "Sam mentioned her. Melanie, I mean, he said he was being put up by her and her... girlfriend, wife? Partner, whatever. He only gave me the basics so you'd probably have to ask him more about what was actually goin' on over there, or about Celia herself, but he definitely mentioned that name."
Not that she's sure they can trust anything Celia told either her or Sam, at this point. Impossible to say what was lie or truth.
"We were also being kinda... stalked by this one External, before it disappeared with Sam."
