Food Isn't Going to Grow Itself
Eddie's day is pretty full with working on the farm. This is most likely the place that you will find him, just by virtue of the fact that it's a full time job and where he lives.

If he invited you over, feel free to just swing by! Wanna chat? No problem! Feel a need to call him out about something he did? Go for it!

You're being chased by a monster in the woods and need a safe haven? That's why he keeps a lantern by the front gate. (There's a wooden sign painted with "E. Kaspbrak Farm" also on the gate, but that wouldn't be visible in the dark...)

This is most likely where you'll find him unless you've invited him elsewhere.

Been Hanging Around This Town
To be fair, Eddie isn't a total recluse, and you stand a decent chance of catching him in town -- especially in the evenings, before full dark has fallen.

For anyone who wouldn't want to -- or wouldn't be able to -- make a trek out to Northwest Hollow and his farm, he sometimes does sword-training with River at the Festival Green.

He might be at the tavern or some other venue where Grace Holloway is giving a performance, just enjoying the vibes.

Or hell, maybe you caught him on a daytime visit to the shopping district. That's a possibility. He does chat with the tailors a lot -- he's probably going to end up doing as they suggest, and grow flax come springtime.

[Locked to Angel] - Gotta Feel Your Feelings

After a talk with Cecil, Eddie shows up at Angel's townhouse. He knocks on the door and waits for a response.

He's not supposed to be alone with his grief, for his lost friend (lost friends, really, for all that the others still live). Eddie thinks maybe that's why he hasn't been able to feel it, has been pushing it away and back and just telling himself 'not now'. It's not the sort of grief that you fall into without a hand to help you back out.

Assistance Needed in Planned Death (As Soon As Possible)

Anyone with ideas for a relatively painless and least traumatic method of death is welcome to share them with Eddie Kaspbrak. Willingness to actually carry out said method would be appreciated.

"You probably want Hemsworth Custom Textiles for gloves. And River la Croix at Infernal Arms and Armor for weaponry and metalwork." Eddie smiles, "She's a good friend and she can do good work even from my terrible drawings, so she's got skill."

"Hemsworth, River la Croix," he repeats under his breath. "Thanks, man. I'll let her know you sent me."

Sam turns back to the chickens scratching their ways around the yard. "Bet if you got a cock you'd be able to incubate n' sell the offspring," he muses. "Could make a killing."

Eddie is a mature grown up who knows perfectly well that Sam is talking about a rooster... which is why he only snickers in the privacy of his own mind at that particular phrasing.

"I should probably ask about that when I get my farm upgrade. I'm already planning to add goats. A rooster and an egg incubator is totally doable." Eddie nods at Sam, "I'd be willing to gift you a chicken or two so you can have your own egg supply."

Since, you know. Totally Sam's idea here.

Honestly if Eddie had reacted any other way Sam wouldn't have blamed him. They were all teenage boys once.

"Might buy from you when you get goats in. Never raised animals myself before, no pets or anything, but if I find somewhere with space setting up a little spot shouldn't be hard to keep a chicken."

He'd be able to take stuff back and forth from the farm to town if they ended up with some excess here, too. He could see this quickly becoming a decent business partnership.

He's not going to argue on the 'gift' versus 'buy' that they've brought up... not yet, at least. But Eddie is pretty set on not taking Sam's money in this case.

"Chickens are social animals," Eddie points out with a smile. "If you get just one, treating her a little more like a pet will keep her happy. Just so you know."

He'd accept chicken-based gifts because it seems like a self-replenishing resource, but he might insist on paying for at least some goat milk. Or cheese. They'd have to see when the time came.

"Might just get two, then, like your ladies here." He gestures at Thread and Bobbin still meandering around the yard.

Eddie wouldn't mind selling goat milk. He doesn't know a thing about making cheese and currently has no inclination to do further reading, but who knows what mood he'll be in come winter?

"For your own peace of mind," Eddie laughs, "I hope the chickens you get aren't too much like Bobbin. Thread's nice, but Angel calls her weird because she loves him." As an explanation, Eddie says, "Most animals get a little freaked out by Angel. He's, you know, a bit more corpse-like than most of us dead folks."

Someone will probably drop that idea on him eventually. One step at a time, though. Gotta be able to house the goat first.

"Angel's a little weird, but he's not that bad. But, yeah, dead things have that kind of energy whether they want to or not. Kinda surprised they're not reacting to me," he murmurs. "Can't generally get any of 'em to come near me but then most of the animals I'd see are wild, shouldn't be approached anyway."

"Honestly, I think it's the 'not breathing' that trips animals up." Eddie shrugs. "I've never minded it."

Eddie hums, looking thoughtful after Sam's comment. Since he expects animals to react to him unfavorably, similar to Angel...

"I think once I get the chicks hatched, it'll be Thread's babies I raise for you. Just in case her 'dead things tolerance' is inheritable." Eddie smiles warmly at Sam.

Sam might be coming from the opposite side, being what Die-Hardman would call a deathless freak, with just as much trouble interacting with the outside world attached.

"I'll let you know when I have space to keep 'em. The place they put me in's nice and all, but I'm still kinda lookin' around for somethin' less central. Happier without a lotta foot traffic, y'know?"

"Take your time," Eddie says. "It feels like there's always something new coming up that keeps us from doing day-to-day things..."

That's not a complaint, really. Just an acknowledgement that normal things -- like, building a chicken coop and fencing a yard -- might get pushed down the list of 'things to handle right now'.

"Just as a thought... there were a few well-off folks on the island before. Maybe well-off enough to have built hunting cabins out in the woods?"

At least Sam has no illusions that settling in here is going to be peaceful. He's not just going to be allowed to settle down and exist quietly. He's making peace with that.

"Yeah nah man, I don't plan on having stuff all together that fast anyway. Gotta earn my keep first. Did find some older places out toward the river that could use some TLC, might work on that in between 'til it's livable. Hand over the one I'm in to someone that'll appreciate it more."

"That sounds good," Eddie says. Always helps to have a goal. "You'll be a bit closer to me once you move. Don't hesitate to ask, then or now, if you need a hand with anything. If I can't help with it, Angel is pretty strong."

(Eddie is starting to mention Angel more in the context of them being a pair. It may become noticeable as he does it more often.)

"Sure. Figure I'll get something set up to people can reach me if they need me for specific stuff." He's used to having an easy access inbox, something where people can give him specific requests, so maybe having someone set that up for him wouldn't be a stretch. "Goes for you too, you need anything, I'm easy to find. Him too, I'll let 'im know if I run into him before you do."

The thumbs-up he gives Eddie is a second nature move, given in place of a wave as he moves toward where the chickens are, scattering them on his way through. He'd been exploring, and he was interrupting Eddie taking care of his farm, and sitting around while other people are doing things isn't exactly his favorite thing.
