First Meetings
Who: Tavion (
of_dathomir) & Valdis (
redlightgreenlight)
What:
Tavion has some joining up to do.
When:
Soon after her arrival
Where:
The Department of Supernatural Affairs
Warning(s):
CW for possible discussions of violence?
The moment she had even heard of the concept, she had been intrigued. She wasn't exactly a fan of taking orders, or being in a hierarchy again - at least one without her atop of it - but this was a strange new world, wasn't it? One she didn't understand and knew very little about.
And eagerly wanted to test herself against.
It's strange, and a little bit funny, to walk so freely, to merely ask for what she wanted - nobody giving her much more than a second glance, certainly not with fear or suspicion. Had she ever been treated like this? A thought to be brushed away, she does not have the bandwidth to unpack that now. She's still grappling with the the monumental issue of having died.
But she finds where she wants to go, finds her way to the person she wants to meet.
And something about it, something about all of this is...exciting. Perhaps the unknown attached to it.
Almost undoubtedly the unknown attached to it.

"I am given to understand that you have...hmm, how to put it: employment for those of specialized skills."
no subject
"That depends on the skills being offered."
no subject
"Thankfully you've already seen a sampling. I am...a killer. Of necessity. Of...oh, so many reasons." Which she waves away, as unimportant.
"But I suspect I can...deal with...any possible threat you are apt to encounter. The...special variety of threat?"
no subject
Valdis prefers to leave most situations to her people to make decisions as they see fit, but there may come a time when they will have to listen to her or to someone else.
"I trust my people to do what is necessary, but I also expect them to listen should I need them to."
no subject
She chuckled a bit. "Which is one reason you can trust that I can take orders. But as to why I will...this place is unfamiliar. The creatures I face will be as well. It would be wise to listen to those who have more experience."
no subject
"Your answers are acceptable, and your skills are undeniable, so I suppose I have no reason to say no."
Morals don't exactly disqualify her either.
"CT is my second, do introduce yourself when you have a moment, and Crichton is the other member of our team. We also have a consultant named Arthur and I'm trying to recruit another one, but have yet to speak to him."
no subject
"Oh I'm sure we'll get on wonderfully," she replies, with a pleasant look on her face.
"But oh, if only I had my weapon with me...why, they'd be able to practically relax."
She is that confident with a lightsaber in her hand. But it's also testing the waters to see what sort of technology might be obtainable here - not fully understanding by what means she might acquire what she wants.

Valdis can read Tavion well enough to discern that much at least, a partner would just slow the woman down and with her skills, she doesn't need one for backup either.
"But I picked them all for a reason, and I trust them to get done what needs to be done."
no subject
"So they will watch my back. If needed," she replies, carefully.
no subject
"They will, if needed. I try not to hinder the skills of my people by enforcing old fashioned rules that work for humans but not those with supernatural abilities."
no subject
But she nods.
"I believe this will be a good fit."
