Mingle - Emergency Potluck
Pumpkin Hollow Community Bulletin
WELCOME POTLUCK
Greetings, residents! Those more observant sorts among you may have noticed a large influx of very crowded ferries. In order to welcome our new residents en masse, Town Hall is holding a potluck in Town Square. Please bring a dish if you are able and make a new friend!
All of our newest arrivals need only bring themselves. We look forward to welcoming you all into our community, and may your lanterns always be lit.
This event is open to all! In light of our new influx of prospective players following the Great Sail Migration, we've decided to offer a small public event to tide everyone over until the TDM this weekend.

"Also living above thy practise, nu?" Anzu says, "Hah! A man after mine own heart. I was rather surprised Dr Watson prefers to walk to work. Thy practise will do just fine, dearest."
[OOC: Shall we timeskip to the practise, fade to black, other, third option? Wait for Lev to say something, as well?]
timeskip!
A period of time later they arrive at Hawkeye's, with his sign bearing 'keep your blood safe from vampires: give at the blood bank'. He sees them both past reception and into the clinic, which is neat and clean as a whistle.
"Must be some kinda good luck that you both ended up here, huh? Or some sort of luck, anyway. Uh- take a seat," there's a couple of stools by the benches for when he inevitably entertains people here, "Lev mentioned you were also a doctor- a koschei?"
finally something Lev does that makes sense as its own reply
Lev sits down first, and Anzu perches in his lap — the other way around would be rather difficult, given the fifteen-inch difference in height. Lev wraps his arms around Anzu's waist, his expression serene.

Anzu, now comfortably settled, nods.
"A physician, darling," he says. "A medical necromancer, though the term is rather misleading. I break not no prohibitions in the course of my work, and I do not seek to disturb the truly dead."
no subject
He does watch Anzu sit in Lev's lap though. Pity he's not a two-seater. His envy is pretty clear.
"More to the point, so uh... you're... both? Open season? Gave each other a hall pass and all?"
no subject
"Hall pass?" Anzu sputters, and laughs.
He missed not the envious look in Hawk's eye; he is electing to remark on it not — he took not no offence from it, but he rather thinks Hawkeye might pull away, put up shields if he were to point it out.
"We have an agreement between the two of us, darling," he says, "as to what constitutes disloyalty and what's not no issue. It's, ah. Not too unusual an arrangement, not among some of our circles, but it's far from the norm. Of these matters, we talk not publicly. Our social standing, mine and his both, is such that it's best to be thought ordinary. At least, nu. In some respects."
He cocks his head to one side, studying Hawkeye; he's definitely smiling.
"I take it such things are rare by the world of thy birth, too?"
no subject
The latter though, he nods, trying to coax his expression into something a little more serious.
"I can be discreet. It was similar in my world- I mean, nobody much cared that I went about with a different nurse every day, but when it came to taking an orderly behind the laundry tent, it was different. So uh, lips sealed."
no subject
"Ah, so that's his name," Anzu says, more or less to himself. He's seen Max around the potluck, but hadn't quite managed to get a chance to talk to him, given how busy the place suddenly got.
He raises an eyebrow at Hawkeye, trying not to laugh at the other's attempt at a serious expression — but as good as his poker face can be, it's far from perfect. He definitely looks like he's trying to keep his expression serious, in turn.
"Feh, darling, truth be told, I think we need worry not here," he says. "But all the same, ah. I'm hardly ashamed of any number of things the Name saw fit to make me, but I am rather private about them, nu?"
no subject
The expression-off they're doing feels a little like they're both about to break into laughter any minute now, but he couldn't say what about.
"Oh- yeah, of course. The point was discretion, not- I made peace with my appetites a long time ago. I won't go spreading any of it around," he zips his mouth.
"So... what am I not spreading around?"
no subject
"I'll keep that in mind, about Max," Anzu says, by-the-by, studying Hawkeye and his reactions. He's having some trouble getting a proper read on him, on exactly how comfortable he is with subterfuge, how comfortable he is with not telling.
Unfortunately, he himself is too accustomed to talking about these things in allusions and circumlocutions. The pause lengthens. Eventually, he sighs and says, "darling, just ah. The kinds of things thou would'st not want thy superiors finding out about, back where thou died'st."
no subject
This wasn't exactly the sort of talk he was expecting when he brought them back to his clinic, so. May as well try and throw the cat among the pigeons a little.
"Either of you the type to kiss on your first clandestine meeting in a doctor's office, or am I going to have to invite you both back again?"
