WELCOME POTLUCK

Greetings, residents! Those more observant sorts among you may have noticed a large influx of very crowded ferries. In order to welcome our new residents en masse, Town Hall is holding a potluck in Town Square. Please bring a dish if you are able and make a new friend!

All of our newest arrivals need only bring themselves. We look forward to welcoming you all into our community, and may your lanterns always be lit.

This event is open to all! In light of our new influx of prospective players following the Great Sail Migration, we've decided to offer a small public event to tide everyone over until the TDM this weekend.

"Thank you," First Aid says, shoulder slumping slightly with relief. Thank Primus Chris is here, he knew he could count on them to take this seriously. As for their question -- it's a good one!

"-- We don't want to cause a panic," he says after a moment's careful though, surveilling the crowd as he does so. The most proper procedure would be separate everyone out into a quarantine zone for observation and treatment, but if they were going to do that they should have done it before they invited half the town to a big party. He wrings his hands together, saying, "And we don't want to make anyone feel like they're being isolated out of malice. They may have trauma about that from their past experiences." And extraordinary powers they might use to defend themselves. It's a little cold to think of other people that way, and First Aid hates it, but he has to consider the needs of the group as a whole.

"Are you planning on staying? If you are, would you mind circulating a bit and reminding people that there are doctors here who want to help them? And that it's better to come in early when they only feel a little sick than to wait for it to get worse. Meanwhile..." First Aid sighs quietly. "I'll track down Mayor Poe and have a quiet talk to her about setting up quarantine rules in case we need them."

Rowan comes floating over, moving rather quickly. They hand over the mask with a proud "Ump!" and watch as Chris ties it on.

"I didn't hang around the dessert table for too long after dropping off my cake, and I cleaned my kitchen thoroughly before baking it. Hopefully that will be enough. I'll talk to the organizers about putting out hand sanitizer stations... I'm pretty sure Town Hall got a delivery from the distillers recently..."

Chris gives themself a little shake, and then straightens up some more. There's a subtle shift in their posture toward the non-threatening, and their next words are in a markedly 'customer service' pleasant tone. "Part of this place being full of living things is genuine pathogens. We have three clinics and an apothecary to go to when you are feeling sick! Don't worry about payment, either. Town Hall takes care of the costs."
