WELCOME POTLUCK

Greetings, residents! Those more observant sorts among you may have noticed a large influx of very crowded ferries. In order to welcome our new residents en masse, Town Hall is holding a potluck in Town Square. Please bring a dish if you are able and make a new friend!

All of our newest arrivals need only bring themselves. We look forward to welcoming you all into our community, and may your lanterns always be lit.

This event is open to all! In light of our new influx of prospective players following the Great Sail Migration, we've decided to offer a small public event to tide everyone over until the TDM this weekend.

Max struggles with the words he wants and settles for a slight topic shift instead. "He's still important to me. I'm still trying to figure it out. But I'm glad--I'm really glad he has someone like you. I don't want him to get hurt. I never wanted that."

River laughs, cheerfully. "We had to have some talks about expectations. The vampires I'm used to are plague dogs, and Erik was rightly horrified to learn about it. Poor bastards - my job would be so much easier if more vampires had his immunity to being a carrier."

"Plague? Oh, shit, like... they actually spread diseases?" Max is also horrified.

"Wait, so what is your job exactly?"

"Oh." There's surprise but not disgust in that one syllable. "I've never met a necromancer before. How does that work? Can you, like, make a zombie and control it?"
