Mingle - Emergency Potluck
Pumpkin Hollow Community Bulletin
WELCOME POTLUCK
Greetings, residents! Those more observant sorts among you may have noticed a large influx of very crowded ferries. In order to welcome our new residents en masse, Town Hall is holding a potluck in Town Square. Please bring a dish if you are able and make a new friend!
All of our newest arrivals need only bring themselves. We look forward to welcoming you all into our community, and may your lanterns always be lit.
This event is open to all! In light of our new influx of prospective players following the Great Sail Migration, we've decided to offer a small public event to tide everyone over until the TDM this weekend.

Daisy's jaw shifts with the motion of her dragging her tongue across her teeth, face wrinkling as she tries to figure out how to even explain how everything went to shit. "After that girl got that message out. This— crazy woman came and took over the ship. Changed its shape and threw us all into cells."
It's heavily simplified, but Daisy's not the best person to explain the details and the nuances.
"People were working on us getting out. Dunno how it went. Obviously." Or she wouldn't be here.

She stops herself, because she's been experimenting with powers she hasn't been able to use in years, she's been building a den, she's been hunting and helping and while she's been lonely as anything, complaining about that seems... unkind.
Instead, she says, "I'm glad you're here instead. This is a good place. Even with the curse, it's... good."

Daisy doesn't miss the stop and start, but she doesn't pry into it. "Mm. Definitely seems better. Didn't realise how much I'd missed being in an actual town. With actual— trees and things."
Right now she's hardly seen any of the place, of course, but comparing it to the ship is night and day.
"...don't think I've been out to the forest since before the ship, actually."

Daisy actually laughs. "Curses, monsters, not being able to leave— nothing new for me. If this place turns out better than the last couple, that's. About as much as I could ask for, really."
Speaking of food, though... she drags her tongue over her teeth, then asks, "There's actual... animals and stuff. Right?"

"I've got to." Hunt, that is. One way or another, it's the only way for her to survive. "Just... haven't even hunted actual animals before. 'cept Siffleur. And he hardly counts. So. Uh. Might need a bit of help?"
Looking a bit more pointedly at Ylva, now.

"I can take you hunting," she says. "I can teach you. I'd like that, actually."
no subject
"Figure there's no one better than a wolf." Especially when using her own wolf form only seems logical, for this kind of hunting. "Should be fun, too."
Getting to burn some of the energy that simply wasn't possible to truly burn on the ship. Actually hunting alongside someone, instead of... well, hunting someone.

"Hopefully you'll still think that by the time we're done." It's mostly joking, but Daisy's always aware that she can't a hundred percent rule out her losing control when Hunting. "And I don't need to really. Eat anything we might catch? So."
no subject
"Yeah," Ylva says. "But you can if you want, too."
She's not going to tell, after all.
no subject
Daisy nods her head to the side. "Not sure I'll want to. When I say I don't need to, I'm being. Pretty literal. Food doesn't do much for me anymore. It's the Fear that matters."
Which is at least beneficial if she takes to hunting long-term. Not having to take a cut of whatever she might bring in.

Dessert is a human invention she is extremely fond of.

"Mm. It's. Hit or miss. When Max cooks, I enjoy that. Everything else... depends. Some days, maybe I'd enjoy it. Others, I dunno."
She'd say it makes her stomach turn on those days where it's unappealing, but that really attributes a role to her stomach that isn't really there anymore.
no subject
"Well, either way, whatever you want. I'm not going to make you do anything."
no subject
"We'll see, I s'pose." Daisy stretches out, cracking her knuckles. "Need a few days to settle. But then I'll hit you up and we can head out."
