Greetings, residents! Those more observant sorts among you may have noticed a large influx of very crowded ferries. In order to welcome our new residents en masse, Town Hall is holding a potluck in Town Square. Please bring a dish if you are able and make a new friend!

All of our newest arrivals need only bring themselves. We look forward to welcoming you all into our community, and may your lanterns always be lit.

This event is open to all! In light of our new influx of prospective players following the Great Sail Migration, we've decided to offer a small public event to tide everyone over until the TDM this weekend.

Well we're apparently dead, but we're not the kind of dead where we aren't still up and living. If that makes sense to you I might need to check you for a concussion- this whole thing is nutty.

[ Hawkeye gives Steve a quick glance over, ] you one of our new arrivals, kid?

( steve may have more experience with concussions than anyone his age ought to but none of anything this man just said makes sense so they must be in the clear. )

Is it that obvious? ( he asks in that charming sort of tone only a teenager can really achieve, which seems to say, "o b v i o u s l y i'm a new arrival, what do you think?" however, as he goes on the snippiness in his tone eases up a little. ) Steve Harrington. I just got in today.

Yeah, they don't tell you but you get a sign stuck to your back when you arrive that says 'I'm new, mess with me'. Just trying to give you a heads up.

Hawkeye Pierce. I'm a doctor, but I'm mostly a surgeon, so fingers crossed I don't have to see you professionally while you're here.

( steve makes a noise that could almost qualify as a laugh, if one were being very, very generous. it's something more like a humorless grunt, like he's trying to appease a teacher who'd just made a dumb joke but he really, really needs that c-. )

People need doctors here? ( he asks with genuine curiosity. ) So we eat, sleep, get sick, whatever... kinda sounds like this whole set-up's a, uh... set-up.

[ He's very familiar. If it had a yes sir attached, Steve would've sounded just like Radar when Henry made one of his jokes. ]

I'm a surgeon, so I mostly patch people up when they get injured, but yeup. Still need us. Kind of a rip-off but for me, this is better than home, so I'm only complaining eighty percent as much as usual.
