She Sings Sea Shanties
Who: Princess Zelda and, perhaps, you?
What: Zelda has just acquired a new business venture
When: Now, but also later
Where: Various
Warning(s): Possibly thalassophobia, will add more if necessary
With a final farewell handshake to her former employer, Captain Booth, Zelda begins to move her personal effects from work onto her new vessel, the Mipha's Grace. Some of the Copper Coin's prior crew have elected to join her--- particularly Jon Sims, her partner Jean, and a small handful of the locals. She is also joined by a newcomer named Pomni.
Her new vessel is smaller than the Copper Coin, but it is a bit more comfortable for the small crew needed to man it, with proper beds and cabins in lieu of a communal hammock space, and a small research lab for the dredged artifacts and odd creatures found in the water. Zelda is also more in control of shore leave, with ventures being significantly shorter due to the issue of space. Additionally, the lifeboats double as canoes with which to harvest sea weed--- a project her beloved Jean began.
Ahoy there! What business have you with Captain Zelda?
My Heart is Pierced By Cupid
[ Oak & Iron, open to all ]
In honor of the new career growth for both herself and for her associates, Zelda has arranged a small celebration, open to any friends! A round of drinks for everyone, and a chance to sample Jean's clever creations! Zelda herself has never had sushi before--- what a delightful treat! Who knew raw fish could be this good?
Perhaps you'd like to congratulate the hostess, or thank her for the booze, or simply join her in singing one of the songs her crewmates taught her. You can find her at the center table, aglow with fun and firelight. There's a seat open for you!
I Disdain All Glittering Gold
[ Main Street Market, open to all ]
One of Zelda's new duties is to sell her own wares. At least until she cuts a deal with one of the local fishmongers. But that's no trouble--- for now, in a shaded booth Zelda sells fish caught by herself and her crew. Perhaps you'd like to buy some? Or maybe just keep her company?
There Is Nothing Can Console Me
[ Closed to Jon Sims ]
Aboard the Mipha's Grace, Zelda spots her boatswain staring forlornly out at the sea. It doesn't take the Triforce of Wisdom to tell he is troubled by something. He's seemed off for the past few days, in fact. Zelda waves to him from the helm.
"Jon! A word, please?"
But My Jolly Sailor Bold
[ On Jack's Marina ]
It's shove-off day! Time for another voyage out onto the Black Jade Sea. Zelda is out on the dock by the gangway, there to greet her crew and welcome them aboard, but she's got some loading up to do still and some deliveries to receive, so she'll be here a bit. Perhaps you're a crewmate coming aboard? Or perhaps you've got a delivery? Or maybe you're just a friend, here to wish Zelda and her crew a safe voyage. Or a stowaway, even. What has you sneaking onto a fishing boat?

Goddess of liberation, helping her get free of her circus confines, even to some degree. How fitting.
"Wait, uh--- not here," Pomni raises her hands, giving an awkward laugh. "I mean, if it does work, I don't want to, y'know... get stuck without anything in front of the whole crew. Would it be okay to go to my cabin for privacy's sake?"
A pause, a moment of hesitation, and she softly pats the hand that clapped her shoulder, and tosses a small, fond smile between the two.
"And... thanks, for being willing to give something like this a shot. It doesn't put me back the way I used to be, but... its a really solid start!"

Don't think about the nudity don't think about the nudity don't think about the nudity don't -
(Wonder how Zelda will react to -)
DON'T.
Jean goes running off. They are On The Job. Besides, Zelda can escort Pomni to the cabin and help soothe her. Zelda is very soothing. It's one of the things Jean loves about their partner.

She does what she can to steady her nerves, letting out a lightly stressed breath. The journey to her cabin is short, and she leaves the door open behind her for Jean to find their way in easily.
"I don't know what I'm gonna do if this doesn't work, but... guess that's not a very good reason to not try."
She's not remarking to Zelda, particularly, but more to process everything that feels as though it happened so fast - though, as promised, she does get situation, moving anything from the center of the room to the sides. No need to get anything that wasn't on her person pierced, after all!

"Yeah... I know, and--- I really hope you're right," She murmurs. "I really appreciate you guys. More than I can say, honestly. I mean, even if we don't get it figured out, it's just... really, really nice to have people in my corner who care."

She has a grin like sunshine, something less commonly seen when she's at sea. Not because she's unhappy here, just because she has to focus, and her smile is most often usurped by Thinking Face. But in this moment, she has nothing to focus on but Pomni.
"Now, don't you worry. If there's a fix for this, we'll help you find it. Jean should be right back."

Thankfully, humanity invented meditation for these sorts of problems.
They enter Pomni's cabin at a rapid power walk and shut the door behind them, beaming. Things seem to be going well in here! That's great! They set the clothes over the back of a chair and then give their attention to Pomni. "When you're ready, Sailor! If you're fast already I can't wait to see you book it in proper shoes, hahaha."

There was no sense waiting for something not to happen, though. She stands up, steps a bit closer, and is clearly fighting tooth and nail to get her racing thoughts in check. No, now is not the time about getting self-conscious about the aftermath if this works. That's a later-Pomni problem.
"Ready now, before I can overthink it any more. I trust you. Just--- if whatever you try comes off, go the whole mile, okay? I wanna pull it off like a bandaid."

Hrm.
They touch their ring to the pommel of the saber, and bow their head, murmuring to themself ("The Light belongs to no one; it should not be bound."). Yes. That was it. Good.
This is how Jean perceives what happens next:
Following Zelda's suggestion, they slash at the poofy shoulder of Pomni's outfit. They feel cloth part and turn their blade, ripping it off entirely; the other follows, and then quick strikes cut the top and bottom of the sailor's shirt from the front. Jean whirls behind her, repeating the cuts on the back, separating the cloth into sleeves and sheets, slashes down her pants and through the waistline. Back in front, to finish the pants and slice the tops of Pomni's shoes so she can step out of them. Sheathe the blade.
This is what Zelda and Pomni see and hear: a silver blur all around Pomni with rapid footsteps, and Jean sheathing the saber just before Pomni's clothes, minus the hat, explode.
Jean made no effort to cut any theoretical underwear, but what they haven't considered is that the game Pomni was trapped in probably didn't fucking model any.

That's the only step Pomni can really track, however - the thudding of boots against wood were so fast, she can't place one from another with any degree of accuracy on which side of her it came from, and it was only when the sound of the blade sliding against its sheath broke the pattern does she open her eyes.
Exploded moment would be a good way to put it, if you can forgive the pun. She glances down to herself, the costume seeming intact, and has a split-second of thought that maybe it didn't work.
She barely had time to consider that they'd have to think of something else, before boom.
Red, blue, and yellow pieces of fabric fluttered to the floor like confetti.
For a moment, she stands there longer than she might have cared to, completely and utterly baffled. The second she gets her head together, she stumbles a bit, and grabs for the clothes. She's not together enough just yet to put them on, but she does hold them in front of her, watching polygons of missing space, strange, empty triangles, fill in with white on the back of her hands.
When she speaks, it's barely above a whisper, sounding equal parts awestruck, relieved, and emotional. She was free, even if just a bit more.
"Oh--- my god. Oh my god, you did it?? Holy [ CAR HONK ]. You... you actually did it."

Then, Jean does some fancy sword work, the costume explodes into ribbons, and Pomni's actual body features seem to manifest from some sort of armature of light and now she's just standing there in the buff.
Zelda is working very hard to keep a professional expression. Very, very hard. It's truly commendable how serious and unphased and normal her expression is right now. But she cannot control the bright red color rising to her face.
"Ahem!" She sits up straighter. "Well, I'm certainly glad to see that you're free of your confines, Pomni! Is there, ah, anything else you need before Jean and I leave you to get dressed?"
By tradition I declare: damn OCs and their one-liners
Listen they weren't sure it would work and now that it has the Professionalism is racing to catch up.

All at once, like snapping a rubber band that'd been pulled taut, Pomni gets her head on straight. Her face has gone from white to almost entirely red, and she's giving the most embarrassed grin she could possibly manage, pulling at the last possible threads of keeping any degree of appearance together.
"N---nope! I think Iiiii can take it from here!" She gives an awkward thumbs up. Said thumbs up has to be quickly rectified, for modesty's sake. "Thanks!! See you both in a few!"
