Off the beaten trail of the Lockwood Forest, hiding deep within the trees, there is a clearing. And in this clearing there is a massive oak tree. Colorful bits of string and baubles of all sorts dangle from its moss-laden branches. Notes, trinkets, offerings. A rune is carved into the trunk of the tree to signify the presence of the mysterious Elsie and her followers. They are called many things. Witches, heretics, nomads, the Wilders. Whatever you call them, here is where they go on the occasions where they need to be found. But why are you here, lost little bird?

{ MEMBERSHIP }

{ Initiation } There is no formal initiation. There is very little that is formal about this group.But they are societal rejects and it will take time for them to speak to any outsiders in earnest, much less offer them a position among their ranks. Perhaps if you appeal a bit to Elsie's love of shiny things and her sense of humor, you may have better luck.

{ Benefits } While there is very little tangible benefit to consorting with the Wilders, all of them seem to know a lot about a lot of things. Seek advice about horticulture, wildlife, forest spirits, craftwork, philosophy, and more.

{ Drawbacks } While mistrust between local groups is a prevailing theme on Marrow Isle, the heretics are the slowest to trust of them all. They are social pariahs with no power or favor. In aligning with them, you sacrifice wealth, power, access to niche information, and mainstream social support. But there is freedom in being beholden to no one but yourself.

{ PHILOSOPHY }

There is very little about this group that is public information, least of all their teachings. But as you grow with them the group will offer more and more guidance. For the time being, be content in knowing that their primary mantra is freedom and embracing the world as it comes to you. You will learn more when you are ready. © tessisamess
