CW: suicide and description of the method

"The adults were still there, but they could never see It. They ignored the things It did, because It made them. So the hunting was easier."

Humans are complicated, and many times they can be selfish. Stan may have killed himself out of pure fear, or out of some calculation that he'd be a weak point in their second attempt to kill It. All the same, slashing his wrists in the bath and forcing his wife to find his body..? That is a cruelty that will linger.

And that is a cruelty to Eddie and Stan's other friends... even without It showing them all a vision of Stan's decapitated head, speaking horrible insults and threats in Stan's voice. Because It wouldn't have been able to do that if Stan was still alive.

he left us, he left us... he couldn't face It and he left all of us instead...

"The monster returned," Eddie replies. "Those of us who remained... eventually went down into It's lair to fight It again... and that's the reason I died. The reason that the white-haired lady made the offer to me, and why I'm here."
