Sam isn't sure why he had decided to go to the party but it was better than wallowing in his room at the Oak and Iron. He even managed to get a new suit for the occasion. Darker than the one he had worn to the ball around with the demons, but still a very nice fit. And for the most part he was enjoying himself, save for the occasional glances he would toss at the table, seeing Alice and Gerry walking together made his stomach twist in knots.

Not that he was jealous.

No way.

Why would he, Samama Khalid, be jealous that his ex had brought the walking embodiment of Hot Topic and was laughing and carrying on with--dear god he sounded jealous even in his own head. Which was stupid. Gerry was a great guy from what Sam had seen. No reason to dislike him. And besides, he and Alice had been over for years. Hell he had been the one flirting with someone and accusing Alice of being jealous not that long ago.

And of course that's how Alice finds him. Internal struggle and all with a glass of wine in hand and just....staring at the ground.

"What? Oh, hey." He looks up at her and smiles. "Having fun?"
