"While there is absolutely a place for older sorts of remedies, especially when the technology here hasn't quite progressed to the level that I'm accustomed to, I would very much like to be able to perhaps augment your medical ability with my own. Perhaps in turn you could teach me your own remedies," Bart suggests. No disparagement at all of the idea that Artemy's practice might be 'backwater' at all. After all, if his practice had been successful in his time, then that certainly puts points in his favor.

He nods at the idea that he's applied an older word to a newer context. "Such is the way of language, right? As time and circumstances change, so too must the worst ascribed to the world around you. I know that if I went into real depth of what I'd done for a living, only every other word would be decipherable to a lot of the people here. It's all a matter of what someone learned prior to making their way here."
