"It can be both," Hawk protests, setting himself down by Gaeta with his plate of food and cider.

"But it is an Earth thing, too. Every year at Christmas, we say Santa comes around on a sleigh pulled by reindeer to leave presents under the tree and in kid's stockings. And to sell it, some of us dress up so that kids can visit Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas. The gifts are really just the kid's parents doing all the heavy lifting, but it's a tradition, and I volunteered to do it back home, too."

Where he also had to explain Santa to most of the tiny little Buddhists at camp, but hey, gifts are gifts and kids always like those.

"Lot of good songs about Santa too, but they didn't pay me enough for a set while I'm in costume."
