[OPEN] Fire it up, fire it up

Who: Sasha James, new friends, and reconnecting with some old ones!
What: A few light encounters around town ft. open prompt with [personal profile] statementofjoespooky and closed prompt for [personal profile] restingslasherface
When: Late September / Early October
Where: Varied locations
Warning(s): N/A for now!

1. We pushed off, we're rolling boulders | Town Hall, Out in Town, Etc / General Wildcard
For all the comforts of modern life that Sasha's found herself missing, getting settled into Pumpkin Hollow hasn't been all too bad.

Maybe she lucked out already having a penchant for the vintage style, or maybe it's the people here, but the culture shock didn't hit quite as hard as she was expecting it to be. The worst of it was getting used to the active presence of magic, but all things considered, it was nothing that was any more shocking than what was in the Visitor's Centre. The largest adjustment was building a life back up, one piece at a time.

Nowhere better to start with that single piece, then, is there?

Between getting settled into working at Town Hall, finding a pace of errands to settle into, and orchestrating "New and Old Coworker Drinking Nights" over the weekends, everything is slowly beginning to start to set into place. She's even getting comfortable enough to start seeing what the locals and longer-time residents are up to, if they're involved in something she can find a way to ask about. (That doesn't stop her from catching onto more of the town's curse and beginning to poke into places where she ought not to be. At least if she gets caught somewhere she's not supposed to be, she can blame it on being new?)

2. Crashing down the mirrored stairways | Bar Rescue @ The Oak & Iron [Open with Tim!]
It doesn't take much for a night out on the town with Tim to turn into some sort of ordeal, and tonight is no exception.

As it always does, it started simple. A few drinks at the Oak & Iron, some light chats with a few friends, a couple jokes turning into bits. The two of them have always managed to be a bit-perpetuating feedback loop, though, and it was only a matter of time before it turns into something that they try to rope other people into. One part of it for tonight's bout of shenanigans that's still a surprise is that they were able to find a can of Monster on this island, beaten to hell but still perfectly sealed, in one of the strange back-alley shops.

The more surprising part than that, of course, is the liquid density at play when they combine it with one of the stouts on tap.

Worse yet, they've requested several glasses, and have made several of these horrible concoctions, testing ratios of stout to energy drink, and trying to get people in on it. Even worse than that is that they've set eyes on you, or you unfortunately ventured too close to their foray into mad science, and are trying to beckon you over to get in on this, regardless if they actually know you or not. Partake or not, you'll likely get to hear about this mess, as well as the other terrible things they've decided to try to put together at their little corner table.

(OOC Note: As said up top, this is a shared open - specify if you want Tim or Sasha (or both!) on this one in the title please!)

3. Two of life's best mine canaries | Sending Stone (to start with!), partially back-dated [Closed to Jean]
It's only after taking the first day to rest (and let reality fully sink in that she's properly in town) that Sasha immediately sets to making some important reconnections - and once she's figured out exactly how the sending stone works, even though she's out on the town already, heading towards for the docks, she makes a call. (Jean told her enough to paint a clear mental image of someone who's all over the place, after all; she'd likely have an impossible time just trying to track them down.)

"God, I miss screens. How are you supposed to be able to tell when...?" She mutters to herself, entirely clueless to exactly how instant the connection is after speaking their name to the stone. "Hello? I'm calling for Agent Jean, have I got the right stone?"

Stone, number, magic connection? She has no idea. This one's going to take some concerted effort to get used to.
