There is a sleeper agent protocol in Darcy that activates every so often, whenever someone mentions that they don't need to worry about her. They don't, Darcy will ensure they don't, at all costs.

"We have her," Darcy says far more firmly than she feels, considering all she knows about how fucking impossible it seems to help anyone from the outside. Darcy retrieves her sending stone to flick Ruby a summons, then stuffs it back in her pocket.

"I promise, we're doing everything we can for her. Ehn... I know you would be too, if you were here. It's not your fault. And you wouldn't be looking out for her on your own anyway, even if you were."
