Martin lets out a gut-wrenching sob, back arching as he tries so, so hard to pull himself off the ground. He's panicking, which only drains his energy faster. "No no no no no--- Jon--- Jon, I don't want to die, I don't want to die---- I-I did when you were gone, I went with Peter, because--- But now you're here--- and I---" He hiccups, then inhales sharply, letting out a whimper. He clutches Jon's hand tightly. His voice is weaker, and so small. "I don't want to die. I want to be with you. I never---"
Martin has to stop to cough violently, which melts into another sob. "I---n-never told you--- that I...."
There's a moment of clarity as Martin looks up at Jon, eyes glazed over as the light begins to fade from them. What's left of his voice is barely audible, a rough gurgle as his lungs fill for the final time with blood and mucus. He tries to force out the words, but they are soft and garbled, and in the end what he says is unintelligible.
