There's a flash of anxiety that comes with waking, but not seeing. Jon jolts upright, but slowly, he settles. When he's no longer trying desperately to reach for sight, his other senses, as well as how keen they feel, begin to pick up the slack. For a moment, in this seeing without sight, all he can do is sit and take it in.

Once he's managed to gather some sense of his bearings, however, the object just to his side registers amid all the sounds of the room. He folds his legs beneath him, and for one short, paranoid moment, listens for the sounds of any other people in his vicinity.

Even as he does, though, the curiosity takes hold, and he reaches to take the object, allowing himself the opportunity to really inspect it.
