incomingchoppers: (choppers sir)

"Yes sir, of course -- "

Instantly, Radar folds up his legs and sits down right next to Father Mulcahy. He really ought to get him a glass of orange juice or something, from how pale he's looking, but that's gonna have to wait. It's obviously more important Radar explains everything first.

So he does. How it started out because Sister Theresa insisted on thanking someone for the supplies, and Hawkeye pulled out the first name that came to mind: Tuttle. How Radar had to convince Colonel Blake to countersign the next round of requisition forms for the orphanage, but Colonel Blake couldn't remember anybody named Tuttle, so yeah, of course Radar said he'd just seen Tuttle at breakfast.

"....but then we started talking about the OD roster, and Colonel Blake realized Tuttle never got put on OD duty before, so..."

That's when it really started spiraling, with the fake personnel form -- Radar tries to grin when he talks about the stuff they put in to tease Major Houlihan, but the smile doesn't last long; he's still too anxious about Mulcahy. Pretty soon everybody in the camp was looking for Tuttle, so they had to keep faking more and more stuff (" -- and then Major Burns walked into the X-ray room and thought I was Tuttle for a second! Jeez, how do you screw that up, I'm not six foot four! But I guess it worked, so -- "), and meanwhile Sister Theresa still needed the supplies, so they figured out how to give her all of Tuttle's back pay, except then General Clayton found out...

"...and that's when Hawkeye found the spare parachute and dog tags and told everybody Captain Tuttle was KIA so they wouldn't ask any more questions." Radar's hunched over his knees, still clinging to his clipboard like a teddy bear, eyeing Mulcahy worriedly. "And... that's everything, sir."
