He sees the blow coming, attempts to avoid it, and in doing so puts a bit too much weight on his bad leg, and stumbles a little. Watson catches himself almost immediately, but it's awkward. Recovering costs him a moment, but he comes out of it swinging, pressing forward rather than going on the defense.
